ABSTRACT

Castleman’s disease, or angiofollicular lymph node hyperplasia, Is an uncommon disorder of unknown origin. Two distinct histological patterns have been described: hyaline vascular type and plasma-cell type. It is currently classified into two major subgroups: localized disease and multicentric disease.

We report an asymptomatic case of a 26-years·old man with hyaline vascular Castleman·s disease of the mediastinum detected Incidentally by thoracic radiograph. No clinical and no laboratory anomalies were present Several broncoscopies have been inconclusive. Thoracotomy revealed a large mass and histopathological study confirmed the diagnosis.
