RESUMO

Os autores aprescntam um caso de tumor carcinóide, inicialmcnte localizado ao mediastino antero-superior, de possível origem tímica, cuja agressividade local e metastização estão de acordo com o referido na litcratura para o comportamento clínico do carcinóide do timo. Não identificaram parancoplasia endocrinológica, nomcadamente síndrome carcinóide.

ABSTRACT

The authors report a clinical case of carcinoid tumor, located at the antero-superior mediastjnum and of probable origin in thymus, whose local agressivity and metastatic pattern are in accordance with the references found in the medical literature about the clinical behaviour of the thymic carcinoid. They have not identified endocrine paraneoplasia, particularly the carcinoid syndrome.
